Women’s Euro Cup: Qualification Round drawn, Trieste in Group C

quatics has conducted the draw for the Qualification Round of the Women’s Euro Cup, the European club competition in which Pallanuoto Trieste will participate for the second consecutive year. The team, sponsored by Samer & Co. Shipping and coming off the preliminary rounds of the Champions League, has been placed in Group C alongside Cn Tenerife Echeyde (Spain), Lille Uc (France), and Rapallo Pallanuoto (Italy). The group matches will be hosted in the pool of the Ligurian town, with games taking place from October 25th to 27th. Two teams will qualify for the quarter-finals, while the remaining six will emerge from Groups A and B, each consisting of five teams. This is certainly not an easy draw for the orchette, who will face a familiar opponent in the Italian league, Rapallo, which denied Pallanuoto Trieste access to the playoff for the championship last season. They will also encounter a growing team like Lille and the formidable Iberians from Tenerife, who contested with Plebiscito Padova for qualification to the main round of the Champions League.

“I have a feeling that our group is the most complicated in the Euro Cup,” analyzes Pallanuoto Trieste coach Paolo Zizza. “We will be playing in a challenging environment like Rapallo, facing opponents with quality and talent. To advance, we must not make mistakes.”
