Women’s Euro Cup: Home match for Trieste as Hungary’s Keruleti Tve arrives at the “Bruno Bianchi”

The game is scheduled for Saturday, November 29 at 6:30 PM with free admission for the public. Paolo Zizza: “We know this opponent, and we have the qualities needed to contain them.”

On Saturday, November 29, in the second match of the Women’s Euro Cup group stage (Group D), Pallanuoto Trieste will host Keruleti Tve. The match will be played at the “Bruno Bianchi” with a 6:30 PM start and free entry for spectators. The referees will be Maria Daskalopoulou (Greece) and Ruben Garcia (Switzerland). The game will be streamed live on European Aquatics TV, and real-time play-by-play updates will be provided by Microplustiming.

After nearly two weeks off following the league “derby” in Padova, the team sponsored by Samer & Co. Shipping dives back into the Group Stage for a match that could play a significant role in the race for a quarterfinal spot, considering that the Orchette already secured three points thanks to their road win in Barcelona on November 8. Suspended in Serie A1 (and also unavailable for the away match in Catania on December 3), New Zealander Morgan McDowall will return to lead the alabardate attack. “We know Keruleti, we faced them last year,” explains head coach Paolo Zizza. “They have a couple of offensive reference points we’ll need to watch closely. In any case, we have the tools to contain them; we’ll need to keep a high tempo and take control of the game. We want the full prize to continue our European path in the best possible way and move closer to advancing.”

Keruleti, coached by Denes Lukacs, has not yet debuted in the Group Stage. In the Qualification Round played in October, they collected a shootout loss to Israel’s Hapoel Yoqneam (20–19 after a 15–15 draw in regulation) and a 13–10 win over Vk Vojvodina. In the top Hungarian national league, the Budapest-based team currently sits in seventh place, and in their most recent match they defeated Gyor 16–10. Their most dangerous player is undoubtedly center-forward Aniko Gyongyossy, class of 1990, the true anchor of the Hungarian tactical setup. Close attention should also be paid to the left arm of Lilla Raski and the shooting abilities of Eniko Rajna.
