Trieste Campus was among the key participants at the conference “Finance and Sport – PN Trading Place 2025”, an initiative promoted by the University of Udine and dedicated to exploring the connections between economics, management, and the development of sports infrastructures. The event, held in the Auditorium of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Regional Government in Pordenone, is part of the broader program “Financial Education in the Municipality”, which runs until November 30.
The president of Trieste Campus and Pallanuoto Trieste, Enrico Samer, was invited to speak during the round table “Finance and Facilities”, which brought together prominent figures from the regional sports and industrial sectors. Joining him were Elena Ceolin, Councillor for Sports Policies and Sports Facilities of the Municipality of Pordenone; Paolo Franco, Vice President of Danieli C. and President of Danieli Sporting Club ASD; Alberto Rigotto, Director of Administration, Finance, and Control at Udinese Calcio Spa; and Vincenzo Zanutta (Cjarlins, Carlino-Muzzana). The session was moderated by Alex Sclip, Professor of Corporate Finance at the University of Verona.
In his speech, President Samer shared the practical experience of integrated management of sports facilities gained through Pallanuoto Trieste and Trieste Campus, illustrating how the adopted model represents a best practice at the regional level. In particular, he highlighted the importance of project financing as a tool for management innovation, emphasizing that Trieste Campus was the first example in Friuli Venezia Giulia of a public-private partnership for the construction and management of sports infrastructures. This experience demonstrates how collaboration between the public and private sectors can create value, promoting economic sustainability, operational efficiency, and the local development of sports organizations.
Through the participation of Trieste Campus, the “Finance and Sport – PN Trading Place 2025” conference provided an important opportunity for dialogue among institutions, universities, businesses, and sports associations on a key topic for the future of sports and its infrastructures.
