Pallanuoto Trieste will not renew the agreement with coach Daniele Bettini

The Ligurian coach will not be on the alabardati bench for the 2024/2025 season. Brazzatti: "With Daniele, we have achieved significant milestones, but the time has come for a change."

Pallanuoto Trieste announces that Daniele Bettini, head coach of the men's Serie A1 team, will not be on the bench for the alabardati in the 2024/2025 season. The club, sponsored by Samer & Co. Shipping, has decided not to renew the contract with the Ligurian coach, which is set to expire on June 30, 2024. This difficult decision comes at the end of a challenging season in terms of results, compounded by the failure to qualify for the next edition of the Euro Cup. "We are very sorry," explains Pallanuoto Trieste's General Manager Andrea Brazzatti. "With Daniele, we have achieved significant milestones. Since arriving in Trieste, he has distinguished himself with great professionalism, implementing a modern and spectacular style of water polo, and always showing a lot of empathy. However, we believe that now is the right time to make a change and start a new cycle."

Daniele Bettini has been coaching the first team since the 2018/2019 season, and under his guidance, Pallanuoto Trieste has achieved the best results in its history for the men's sector. In the 2021/2022 season, the team achieved a remarkable third place in the regular season and subsequently reached the playoff semi-finals against An Brescia, narrowly losing in game three of a highly balanced series that saw the alabardati come very close to the championship final. In the 2022/2023 season, Pallanuoto Trieste participated for the first time in a continental club competition, the Euro Cup. It was an exciting journey, ending only in the semi-finals in the Italian derby against Rn Savona. In the ongoing 2023/2024 season, Pallanuoto Trieste placed fifth in the standings and was eliminated by De Akker Bologna in two games in the first round of the playoffs.

We extend our sincerest thanks to the coach for his work over these six years and wish him all the best in his future sporting career.
