On Thursday, November 13, in the third match of the Men’s Euro Cup group stage (Group B), Pallanuoto Trieste will host Dinamo Bucharest. The match will take place at the “Bruno Bianchi” pool, starting at 8:00 p.m., with free admission for spectators. Referees for the game will be Vlaho Radicevic (Croatia) and Maxim Gerasimov (Great Britain). Live streaming will be available on European Aquatics TV, and real-time play-by-play coverage will be provided by Microplustiming.
This will be a first-ever meeting for the team sponsored by Samer & Co. Shipping, as they face a Romanian side for the first time in their history. Considering the current Group B standings (Szolnok 6, Trieste and Barcelona 3, Dinamo 0), it’s a crucial match in the race for a spot in the Round of 16.
“There are definitely some heavy points at stake,” said head coach Maurizio Mirarchi. “We’re in good physical condition and coming off a convincing league win, but playing in Europe is a completely different story. To take all three points, we’ll need a very focused game — especially in defense, which is the key to building a strong performance.”
Dinamo, coached by Andrei Mateiasi, struggled in their first two Euro Cup outings, suffering defeats against Szolnok (15–16 at home) and in Spain (a clear 22–11 loss to CN Barcelona). In terms of achievements, the red and whites share the record number of national titles (32) with Steaua, although their last championship dates back to 2000.
The standout player is undoubtedly the veteran Cosmin Radu, the 1981-born center-forward who has played across Europe — including stints in Italy with Florentia and in Croatia with Mladost and Primorje. Trieste will also need to watch out for the offensive talent of shooters Andrei Prioteasa and Matei Ioan Lutescu, who have scored 10 and 6 goals respectively in the competition.
